Boo
Meet Boo, a 3 yr old, 12 lb spayed female, double dapple, located in Roseville. Boo is a beautiful girl, but is a special needs baby because she is deaf and blind in one eye that was more than likely caused by irresponsible breeding for her double dapple coloring. She has a very sweet and loving nature and gets along well with other dogs. She has not been around cats so we are not sure about how she would be around them, but feel it would probably be ok with proper introductions. Boo is a little hesitant with strangers but warms up quickly and overall does well with most adults and older children (10+). She loves to snuggle in your lap and go outside to run in the sunshine. She is crate trained and that is where she sleeps. She also loves to go for car rides. Her current owner adopted her to keep her from being euthanized by a previous owner. Her owners have tried hard to overcome the communication issues that come with her disabilities but do not have the time or knowledge to properly help her and feel she would do best in a home more experienced with her special needs. Some of our more experienced adopters have successfully taught their deaf dogs sign language commands. We have also had blind and/or deaf dogs do very well with another like sized dog in the home. Many seem to naturally turn into their personal guide dog helping them adjust to their new home as well as easily learn new behaviors. She is only about 50% house trained, but it is felt this could possibly be greatly improved with more experienced adopters and the possible guidance of another dog to help. As we said, Boo is a beautiful girl and would make a wonderful companion for the right home. She is spayed and current on her vaccinations and ready for her new forever home.
