Woody
Meet Woody a 6 yr old, 23 lb, golden brown and cream, long haired, neutered male, dachshund/terrier mix located in Folsom. Woody is a wonderful, energetic and affectionate dog who loves socializing with friends at Doggie Day Camp, or he is equally content spending a quiet day lounging around the house and playing games. He also loves his stuffies, but is an excellent de-stuffer. He is also game for a good dress up costume. He is a wonderful companion who enjoys interacting with people. He absolutely loves spending time at Doggie Day Camp, playing with his canine friends. He is extremely smart, healthy, neutered, chipped and up to date on all his vaccinations. He is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, knows how to use a doggie door, loves to go for a car ride, and has had some obedience training. He does not do well with cats, but does well with most other dogs. As for adults, he definitely prefers women and does not do well with any small children.
His current owner adopted him 6 years ago while her husband was deployed in the military and her children were away at college, so it was just Woody and his person for an extended period of time. Then the pandemic happened exacerbating the isolation, resulting in a very overprotective little dog. He is typically a sweet and loving soul and has attended Doggie Day Camp and overnights at the local boarding kennel without incident. But has not adjusted well to the return of her husband and his over protectiveness has really become an issue. As a result, he has been getting nippy and barking at perceived strangers in the home, including the husband. They have been trying to work on the issue for awhile to no avail. Now they are about to become grandparents and feel it would not be fair to put Woody or the baby in a stressful and problematic situation. Therefore they have come to the difficult decision to rehome Woody to a loving home that is less stressful and more comfortable.
